Tata Motors surges nearly 7%
Shares of the auto major jumped 6.8% to ₹82.10 on the BSE despite a sharp decline in sales of its luxury car brand Jaguar Land Rover in the March quarter and temporary suspension of production at units outside China in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Rupee opens lower
The Indian rupee opened marginally lower at 76.45 against the US dollar compared with Friday's close of 76.40.

Strides Pharma gets USFDA nod for Flucytosine capsules
The pharmaceutical company's step‐down wholly owned subsidiary, Strides Pharma Global Pte Ltd, Singapore, has received US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) approval for Flucytosine capsules USP, which is a generic version of Ancobon capsules of Bausch Health US, LLC.

Infosys climbs ahead of Q4 earnings
Shares of the IT major rose nearly 4% ahead of the Q4 and FY20 earnings to be released later today. Investors will keenly watch if
the firm will continue with the norm of providing revenue growth guidance, given the uncertainty amid the covid-19 pandemic.

L&T bags multiple contracts for power business
The infrastructure and engineering major has received an order to modernise the power distribution network in a subdivision
of Bengaluru metropolitan area zone. It has also bagged orders to establish 220 KV, 132 KV substations and 132 KV cable
networks in India, West Asia and Africa.

Sensex, Nifty open 1% higher
The benchmark Sensex opened 372.78 points, or 1.18%, higher at 31,961.50, while the Nifty 50 index gained 102.80 points, or 1.11%, to open at 9,369.55.

from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) Alcaftadine Ophthalmic Solution, 0.25%.

Wockhardt receives USFDA approval
The pharmaceutical company has received Qualified Infectious
Disease Product (QIDP) designation for WCK 6777 from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). WCK 6777 is a combination antibiotic based on Wockhardt’s NCE Zidebactam, which imparts WCK 6777 novel mechanism of β-lactam enhancer.

Asian markets largely flat
Asian stocks were largely flat in early deals, with Japan's Nikkei trading down a marginal 0.9%, while Hang Seng index in Hong Kong was unchanged at 24,423 points from Friday's close. Shanghai Composite index in China was also nearly flat at 2,842.8 points.
SGX Nifty, which indicates the movement for Indian stocks, was down a marginal 0.2%

Dow jumps nearly 3% Friday
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 704.81 points, or 2.99%, to end at 24,242.49, while the S&P 500 gained 75.01 points, or 2.68%, to 2,874.56 and the Nasdaq Composite added 117.78 points, or 1.38%, to close Friday's session at 8,650.14.

US stocks gain on hopes of covid-19 drug
Key Wall Street indices rose Friday and also posted gains for the week, boosted by a surge in Boeing shares, President Donald Trump's plan to reopen the coronavirus-battered economy and hopes of a potential drug by Gilead to treat covid-19. Boeing shares soared nearly 15% on plans to restart commercial jet production in Washington state after halting operations last month due to the covid-19 pandemic.
